24hour Department of Emergency Care – Medcare 24

Emergency Medicine is a vital component of our care. From minor lacerations to cardiac arrest, it is important that when patients arrive in our emergency department they receive care that is fast, efficient, professional and provided in a comfortable and healing environment.

On October, 15th, 2007 AMC opened its own unit of urgent and immediate help off-site – Medcare 24. This department was created for solving the problems of the patients who are in critical situation or in need of receiving urgent medical help at home.

The new department consists of 3 special crews:

• The crew of first aid
• The crew of immediate help at home for adults
• The crew of immediate help at home for kids

Services of Medcare24 include:

• House call of the first aid crew, and if necessary, hospitalization to the specialized public or private in-patient department of your choice
• House call of immediate help at home or off-site
• House call of specialists
• House call of pediatrician
• Express lab tests at home
• Wide range of laboratory tests, carried out in the laboratory of American Medical Clinic. The results are reported to the patient per phone or email within 24-28 hours from the time of sampling
• Diagnostic investigations at home – ECG, ultrasound of abdomen and pelvic
• Transportation to remote areas as well as medical evacuation

All the crews consist of doctors of higher categories, who have huge experience of delivering urgent medical care. The crews work 24/7 on the special ambulance vehicles equipped with the modern medical technological equipment and medications.
